Music Program
-
Music classes meet once a week for 45 minutes for all students in the school. Students learn to listen to music, sing, move, and play musical  instruments (rhythm and melodic instruments). Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 learn to play the recorder, a pre-band instrument. All students participate in a music performance during the school year, some in the Christmas program, some in the Spring Showcase. First grade students perform for their mothers at our Mother's Day Tea. Students in grades 4 and 5 will attend a Baton Rouge Symphony concert in May and take their recorders to play along with the Symphony on some of the music.
